EGYPTIAN DANCE SHOW FUNDRAISER
For Breakthrough Breast Cancer
Moulid is a community ritual that has been practised since dynastic times. The evening will commence with a dance show featuring 9 dancers from across the UK and one from Milan! The show will demonstrate the wide range of music and styles of Egyptian dance, some of which will be familiar as 'belly-dance' and some which are rarely seen outside Egypt. Also during the evening there will be a bazaar selling costumes, jewellery and scarves for the dance and after the show an opportunity to try out some moves with the performers.
Tickets £10 from Amina 02392 595965 or Diane 01305 813179

KUPENGA KWA HAMLET
Two actors play all the key roles using only a few essential props to tell the story.
After bringing you their production of Two Gentlemen of Verona this wonderful Zimbab-wean company return with their take on Shakespeare's most enduring masterpiece, Hamlet. It will be like no other Hamlet you've seen before, with two actors playing all of the key roles in a version that is nearly half the length of a 'traditional' production.
The actors perform the piece in the imagina-tive Zimbabwean 'township' style, bringing their own unique irreverence and energy to this classic Shakespearian play, using only a few essential props to tell the story.
Fused with contemporary Zimbabwean per-formance methods, the actors explore the themes of family dynamics and life in a transi-tional society in an entertaining, yet thought-provoking way.

NATALIE ROSS
One-woman band Natalie Ross is a sassy and eccentric pop artist who will have you jumping in your seat, well that's if you're not up 'n' dancing already! Her finely crafted songs and recordings, all written, produced, arranged and performed by her ladyship, take an acoustic guitar, kooky vocal style and barbershop style harmonies to a surprisingly accessible sound. Honing her songwriting and performance skills each week has led to a new modern 1940's/ 50's pop/jazz/big band Inspired project. Vera Lynn and The Andrews Sisters to name a few have been key influences.
